Prof. Bożena Gierat-Bieroń

Associate professor and lecturer at the Institute of European Studies, Jagiellonian University. Professor of political sciences. Her academic interests focus on the EU’s cultural policy and the external cultural relations as well as on European integration processes in cultural dimensions. Has been a visiting scholar at Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland), the University of Glasgow (UK),Groningen University (Netherlands), Sassari University (Italy), Kobe University (Japan), University of Leuven (Belgium). Has also received scholarships of the European Commission at Osaka University and Kobe University (Japan). Served as the co-ordinator of the MA Euroculture Programme (European consortium of seven prestigious universities: Groningen, Göttingen, Marc Bloch (Strasbourg), Uppsala, Bilbao, Olomouc and Udine). She has also authored six books and more than 40 articles, and received the awards of the Rector of the Jagiellonian University and Dean of Faculty of International and Political Sciences. Has also worked for the National Centre of Culture in Warsaw (Poland), as well as Collegium Civitas in Warsaw, and participated in various international scientific conferences and projects.
