Mirosław Natanek is a Historian (Jagiellonian University) and Europeanist (studied at Universitée Paul Valéery Montpellier III). He is an Assistant Professor at the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University. His research interests focus primarily on the history of European integration and its local government dimension, as well as international cooperation between European local governments. He also focuses on the activities of the Council of Europe, where he completed two research internships. In these fields, he is the author of several chapters in collected volumes and academic articles in three languages. As a collaborator of the Istituto di Sociologia Internazionale di Gorizia (ISIG), he has also been a co-author of expert reports for the Council of Europe. On multiple occasions he has been a scholarship holder of the Erasmus and CEEPUS programmes as well as a recipient of funding from the Ryoichi Sasakawa Young Leaders Fellowship Fund (SYLFF). He has been a lecturer and visiting professor at, among others, Université catholique Louvain-la-Neuve (Belgium), Univerzita Mateja Bela, Banská Bystrica (Slovakia), Pázmány Péter Katolikus Egyetem, Budapest (Hungary), Univerzita Palackého, Olomouc (Czech Republic) and Technische Univeristät Chemnitz (Germany). Mirosław Natanek is a member of the Polish Society for European Studies and is the President of its Krakow branch.
